A Wash and Blow Dry

The large ponds out at Eagle Marsh are still mostly iced over, but there are some open areas.  The eagle pictured below found one of them.  I watched it drink a bit of water, get a quick bath, and then climb up on that downed tree trunk.  It sat there for quite a while with the wind blowing against it.  Once the eagle finally flew back to its perch near the nest, I took its cue and headed home.
