Lucy taking flight

I went out to Fox Island this afternoon hoping that Lucy would still be around. We call this female northern cardinal Lucy because she is affected by leucism. She usually leaves the area by mid to late April and I’ll be traveling the next couple of weeks, so this is likely the last chance I’ll have to observe and photograph her this season. And if that’s the case, what a parting shot.
